Android: Why do I see duplicates on the standard Address book?
On your Kylook – Address Book
After the synchronization, Kylook merge all obvious (100% sure) duplicates. The user can later decide to merge (or not) the unobvious (likely) duplicates.
This can be done in the Kylook-APP (“Notifications” / tap “Duplications”)
Or on the Kylook website menu “My contacts” / “Duplications”
More in this video tutorial >> click here
You will have a Kylook Address Book free of duplicates.
On the device native (default) address book
On devices with “Android” operating system the issue of duplicates is more complex, because each manufacturer and some time for each model different Apps are used to manage the user contacts (address book) and they can behave differently. But they all have the following in common:
Contacts shown are the sum of the address books of all accounts.
Example: device with two Gmail accounts (GM1 y GM2) and the Phone address book with this contacts
On GM1 contacts A1, A2
On GM2 contacts A1, A3
On the phone A1, A3
Normally the user should see only the 3 contacts: A1, A2, A3
Unfortunately it can happen that the user see this: A1, A1,A1,A2, A3, A3
The user see the contact A1 3 times (as duplication), because is included on 3 accounts.
The user can edit one of the contact A1 and define to join this contact with the other two A1.This is nice to do for few contacts but in case of more tan 100 contacts is not funny. Besides that for each modification could happen that the contacts appears again repeated (duplications)
How can Kylook helps?
Is easy, just set the device to display only Kylook contacts.
For this proceed as follows:
1. Open the native (standard) address book
2. Click the device “Menu /Options” button
3. Select the option “Contacts to display”. this may vary depending on the device
4. Select the account “Kylook”
From now on the user will see a “duplicate free” Address Book.

Warning: almost every APP on your device CAN read the “standard” Android contact list.
For important contacts, those you want to protect from thefts, we recommend you not to sync these contacts with the standard Device Address Book.
Your contact list will be safer if you keep these only in your Kylook APP.
